This breathtaking little beauty was the first little newborn to break in my studio since I’m typcially on location with newborns, but it was wonderful having them come out to the studio for their baby girl’s newborn session. The first thing I noticed about Miss P was her fabulous hair! It was amazing and so soft and spikey at the same time. I think she had more hair than my toddler!

At first she wasn’t too keen on getting all sleepy for us, but we eventually won her over and got some great shots of her.

Sometimes I love awake shots as much as the sleepy ones!

This shot on the left, mom and dad had done a similar shot with their older daughter to display their matching tatoos. I love how this turned out with our own take on it. And we worked HARD to get the pose on the right. I think we managed to pull it off!

D&T, I can’t thank you enough for letting me capture your gorgeous baby girl. Thanks for being so patient and fun during our session! I had a wonderful time meeting you all and am so excited for you to see the rest of your images!

Feature Friday: Heidi’s Knits & Tutus | Photography Props and Accessories

Today’s Feature Friday is Heidi’s Knits and Tutus. She is based out of Washington, but has an online shop as well. I purchased a Tutu and matching flower hat set from her and they are great!

What I love about her tutus is that the tulle is actually a loop, which not only gives the tutu more thickness, but is more comfortable for the child as well. Even Bailey left this one on for quite sometime when usually, she tries to take them right off! I also loved how the waist of the tutu was hand knitted with coordinating yarn and the waist was adjustable with the ribbon so it would fit a variety of ages. Here’s Bailey modeling a little for us.

One of my favorite little guys was back for his 6 (well, just about 7) month photos last week, he’s growing up SO quickly!! He’s already a big baseball fan at his fine young age, so we started out at the ball field (these were especially for daddy!) and I think he’s such a natural on the mound already. ;-) Then we headed over to one of my new favorite locales and got some other fun, farm style shots. I just can’t get enough of his chubb!

I had the pleasure of meeting this gorgeous little girl and her sweet family last weekend as she turned just 6 days old. She was an a-m-a-z-i-n-g sleeper for us, which is always a nice surprise. She didn’t disappoint in the cuteness department either. I had been wanting to get some outdoor newborn shots for quite sometime now, but living in Minnesota, that’s not always a possibility. But, fortunately this time, it was hotter outside than it was inside, so we headed out to their beautiful garden in the backyard and got some great shots among their garden.

I loved using this blanket that was hand made for Miss M, isn’t it beautiful? A perfect heirloom to have!

B Family, it was such a pleasure meeting you all and especially your sweet baby girl. Thank you for the opportunity to photograph her!

Definitely my favorite from this session!

I had the pleasure of first meeting baby L’s mom & dad at the Baby Expo back in April and was so excited when they contacted me to do the newborn session for their new baby boy! This little guy was a fabulous little sleeper and even though he woke up for the second half of our session, we got some wonderful awake shots of him. Isn’t he a gem? He’s about as cute as they come!

I had been looking forward to this session for quite some time. Adorable A and her family were coming into town from out of state and her mom and I were friends in high school, so I could not wait to meet Miss A and see their adorable family! Grandma & Grandpa and the cousins also got in on the fun too! As you can see in the last photo though, I think we wore A out a bit. :-)

This adorable little sweetie is 5 months old and is just as cute as they come. I could not get over her gorgeous blue eyes! The weather gave us a little bit of a scare, but fortunately the rain held off long enough for us to get some fun photos at home amongst the flowers and yard. She made us work hard for her sweet smiles, but once we got them, they were totally worth the wait!

This gorgeous newborn session has got to be one of my favorites to date (well, they’re sort of all my favorites!). This sweet newborn girl came a little earlier than planned, but she was a fabulous little sleeper for us and let us capture some really unique shots! Mom & Dad also got in on the fun and we captured some beautiful family images and with each of them individually. Big sister {S} didn’t miss out on the action either and we managed to capture a few one with her and her new baby sister (with the help of some strategically placed Smarties!)

Baby J came back for a small little session with mom & dad since the weather for his last sessions wasn’t very cooperative. And boy am I glad he did! He was SUPER smiley and in a great mood and loved being outdoors and looking at everything new around him. His mom always has the best props too, including this awesome crate! Isn’t it cute and just perfect for the setting?

This adorably sweet little girl and her baby brother took part in the minis as well. She was SO stinking cute in her little outfits, the colors were amazing! She also loved looking at the chickens that were in a small coop, she loved feeding them the grass. Baby bro even got in on a little bit of the action towards the end of our session. He hung in there long enough for us to get a few cute shots of the two of them together. You can tell how much M loves her baby brother.
