Get ready for a bunch of sneak peeks over the next couple of days.  We had a great day of mini sessions last Sunday and this adorable family got in on the fun too!  You might remember Mr. C from his 6 month photos.  He’s ONE now!!  Happy Birthday to him!

Thanks again J & M, it was so fun seeing you guys again and seeing how big C has gotten.  Enjoy these, more to come soon!

I thought it would be fun to share a glimpse into a day in the life in our house.  My crazies are 1 and 5 and I couldn’t imagine a day without them.  :-)

These two adorable cousins were a lot of fun to shoot!  Miss M had the most beautiful blue eyes contrasting with her adorable little brown curls.  And Miss A might only be just about 5 months old, but she had such a spitfire little personality and sweet disposition.  We were at Grandma & Grandpa’s beautiful garden they had, I wish my yard looked this nice!

Thanks L&J for letting me capture your beautiful daughter and sweet niece.  We got some fun shots of Miss A and I can’t wait for you to see the rest!

Baby J has got to be one of my most well known newborns.  I constantly get comments on his adorable newborn photos, especially the one of him holding his head up on his hands.  It’s hard to believe that was already 6 months ago and he’s now a happy, smiley, sweet boy!  We had hoped to get outside for his session, but the weather had other plans.  But we still got some great shots nonetheless!  Isn’t he adorable?  I’m in LOVE with his deep blue eyes.

We also got to use the awesome vintage scale that we used in his newborn photos.  He was just a teeny bit bigger this time.  :-P

Thanks again you guys for a great session, J is such a cutie pie!

I got to photograph this gorgeous beauty on Mother’s Day and it was definitely one of the highlights of my day this year!  I know Mother’s Day for her Mommy had a whole new meaning this year.  She was excited to look around and explore what I was doing at the beginning of our session, but Mom had the magic touch and we got her to sleep for some awesome shots!

Thank you {D Family} for the honor of capturing your little angel!  I hope you had a wonderful first Mother’s Day, and thanks for letting me be a special part of it.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Remember this amazingly adorable newborn?  Well, she’s SIX months old already!  I just can’t believe it!  She and her big brother came over for her six month session and we had so much fun.  Big bro was a HUGE help in knowing exactly how to get smiles out of his little sis and I could see how much they love each other, it was so sweet!  I adored the outfits and accessories that mom brought too (she shares an addiction to Etsy with me), especially the teal and the feathered headbands!  Aren’t they adorable?

Thank you {P} family for once again letting me capture your daughter and your adorable son!  I had a great time with you guys and I hope you love your sneak peek!

This session was one that I’ll always hold near and dear to my heart.  As part of a gift to one of my best friends (and from her wonderful family), I hopped on a plane for the weekend and headed to Atlanta to photograph this gorgeous 6 day old miracle.  And I must say, it was worth every mile I traveled.  She was an AMAZING sleeper for us and I was so excited to be one of the first people to meet her.  And you know “the pose”?  Well, she held it for a LONG time.  So long, that I was scurrying around to find hats and other things to use with it, while she sat there snoozing away.  :-)

{P Family}, I can’t thank you guys enough for allowing me to capture your precious {M} as a newborn.  I’m so elated that she’s here and that your family is complete.  {M} is such an awesome big brother already and I know you guys are going to have a wonderful time getting to know your new baby girl.  Thank you again and I hope you enjoy these few photos!

This gorgeous peanut was just about 2 weeks old when I got to visit her in her new home for her first portraits.  She was just beautiful and one of the best sleepers I’ve ever had.  She had some of the most gorgeous, smooth baby skin.  You know, like the skin you imagine when you think of a sweet little baby?  I couldn’t get enough of her!

Thanks Mom & Dad for welcoming me into your home and for the honor of capturing your sweet baby girl.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Source: How to Choose a Baby Photographer

What is your style? What do you like? Choosing a baby photographer is a big decision and can involve a significant investment. Here are a few tips to ensure you are satisfied and happy with the end result:

Decide Your Budget Range and Style

The first step in choosing a baby photographer is to decide on a style preference.  Do you prefer a modern look, a classic look, outdoors, indoors, colorful or black and white?  Many photographers have a distinct look, and you may want to consider if their style suits your home décor.  Additionally, prices will vary according to which photographer you choose.  Lower priced photographers will allow you to purchase more prints, while higher-end photographers provide added services such as helping you design custom artwork for your home.  So keep your style preference and budget at the top of your mind, as feeling confident about these two factors will help you be more efficient in your search for the perfect photographer.

Research Baby Photographers Online

The second step in choosing a baby photographer is to browse the websites of photographers in your area.  Make a list of a few artists who are compatible with your style and your budget. As a general rule, photographers will most often display their best photos online to attract potential clients. If you don’t like what you see on the website, chances are high that you might not like their work in person.

Call Your Baby Photographer Choices and Narrow the List

Once you have a list of your top choices, call the photographers to determine if you “click” with them on a personal level.  After all, this person will play an integral role in documenting your family history, so you want to ensure you like them.  Be open and communicative about your wishes, needs and budget ideas.  Get a “feel” for the energy, the setting and the photographer’s ideas, take your time and make the right decision.

Know Your Photography Goals

A reputable and professional baby photographer will try and determine your goals and needs to ensure they provide you with the best possible service.  Questions you may want to be able to answer include:

  • Are you looking for custom wall art or something smaller to document this particular time?  This answer can play a major factor in your choice as you might invest in a higher-end photographer for your wall art and try various styles for your smaller prints.
  • What is your priority and main goal of booking this session?
  • Will this photo begin or follow an established family tradition? If it follows a family tradition, ensure you explain your needs fully or provide visual examples.

Remember, establishing a relationship and communicating your goals is the best step to success in hiring the ideal baby photographer for you. Follow these simple rules and you will be on your way to displaying a gorgeous new portrait of your child in your home.
