What to Wear 012020101 What to Wear | Urban Family PhotographyIt’s time for another addition of What to Wear!  I figured these would be a good way to fill in the gaps during the slow season of sessions.  And besides, this is sort of like shopping for me too, and I can’t say No to that!

I’m working on a “wintry” theme one, but this one would be great for fall photos or even those late winter photos when it’s not quite “spring” yet, but more of an early spring.  I love combining blue and orange and these outfits bring out some great combinations of those colors.  All of these outfits can be found at Old Navy.

There’s nothing like the bond between a boy and his favorite baseball.  This ball is pretty meaningful to my little man. We went to one of the last Twins games at the Metrodome this fall and had some amazing seats courtesy of my full time job.  So amazing, that we had about 15 or so foul balls fly over our heads!  Now, one would think that it’s an easy feat to catch one of these foul balls, especially when you’re in the 2nd row, but I’ve decided it’s one of the hardest things to do, and that the baseball God’s have to be on your side if you are to become a proud owner of one of these.

Well, one of the many flew *right* past us, and of course, I was distracted by Joe Mauer’s cuteness and not paying attention!  Thankfully, a woman a couple of seats over from us caught it.  She was SO sweet and decided that Tyson was to be the proud new owner of that little ball and gave it to him.  I think it may have only been use for a few short minutes in the game, but it was SO awesome to see the joy on Ty’s face when he got it.  He held onto it so tightly for the rest of the game, and it now has a special place on his shelf in his room next to his other sports momentos.

So, when I wanted to practice on my new seamless paper, I told him I would let him take some pictures with his special baseball.  He quickly decided that he wanted to put on his Twins jersey as well and well, they turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself!  We now have a fun storyboard that I’m going to get made into a canvas for his new room (when we hopefully move in a couple of months!)

I can’t think of a more precious gift to have right before Christmas than a new baby.  The {S} family welcomed baby A into their home just over a week ago and I got to photograph him when he was just 6 wee days old.  He was wonderfully adorable, with his strawberry blonde hair and his bluish eyes.  He also was a fabulous little model for us and gave us some fun little poses to capture.

Mom & Dad were up for just about anything I thew there way, so we used some fun new props.  We couldn’t pass up at least one Christmas photo too being he was born so close to Christmas.  :-)

Thank you SO much for allowing me to capture your new addition.  He’s absolutely perfect!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

I try not to post too many photos of my kids on here, I leave those to our family blog.  But, I just couldn’t resist sharing our Christmas card photo with you all.  These two are the reason that I fell in love with photography and they are the ones that drive me to get better and better and to do what I love.

So, from our family to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas!  Thank you for a WONDERFUL first year for Ten Tiny Toes Photography and I know 2010 will be even better!  We hope that your family and friends have a wonderful holiday season!

This little guy melted my heart from the moment I met him.  He was full of smiles and laughter and was such a joy to work with and had THE most gorgeous blue eyes!  Even though it was a bit chilly out, we had a great time hanging out indoors to get some fun shots of Mr. {K} and mom and dad.  We did manage to get a few shots outdoors before we got too chilled though (thanks for tolerating it, guys!).

6 months is one of my favorite ages to photograph.  {K} was so fully of energy and was anxious get moving and crawling and even showed me some of his Yoga poses!

P Family, I had such a wonderful time meeting you guys and photographing your adorable family.  Thank you for welcoming me into your home to capture your memories.  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Sweet little {V} is just five months old, but she has so much character and personality at her young age! I got to get together with her mom, dad and grandma for a fun little session at their home. We had fun with her cute outfits and some backgrounds and got some great shots with both mom, dad and grandma. She was SO smiley for us and was such a joy to photograph. She also had the biggest, most beautiful brown eyes. So cute!

I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek of little miss {V}!

I’ve had nothing but little newborn boys thus far (don’t get me wrong, I LOVE them too!) so it was SO wonderful when I found out I was going to get to photograph this precious, beautiful little one.  I’ve had slew of hats just waiting around for a girl and mom and I didn’t waste any opportunities to use them!  Sweet little {P} was a perfect little peanut for us.

She had THE most amazing hair too, it was just too cute to not get some shots of it. :-)   Stillwater Newborn Photographer

I love it when my mom’s are just as obsessed with Etsy as I am.  She had this awesome one on the left.

Last weekend on a beautiful autumn day, little Miss {P} and her family met up with me at one of the gorgeous Minneapolis lakes that they live by.  I was so happy that it was nice enough out for our session because I knew P’s gorgeous blonde hair and blue eyes would be beautiful in the sunlight.  I love when I get to photograph little blondies because my kids have dark hair and eyes.  We had so much fun watching her feed the few remaining ducks and just exploring and running around.

L Family, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your adorable little girl!  I had such a great time with you guys and hope we can do it again!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

It’s time like these when I find myself wondering how I got so lucky.  How is it possible that I’m getting paid to do what I absolutely love most?  I can’t explain the feeling and the rush that I get when I have a session like this, it’s almost a high of sorts.  Whatever it is, I thank God every day that I have discovered this passion and that I am blessed enough to be able to share it with others.

This wonderful session was done at the B family’s home.  I absolutely love having sessions at my clients’ homes because it seems that’s where everyone is most comfortable.  The kids are happy and excited to be playing and mom and dad are always more laid back too.  Plus, it’s fun for me to see where they live and play every day, and helps me better understand who they are and to get to know them better.

They have the 3 most beautiful blonde haired, blue eyed girls.  While all three of them have very unique personalities from each other, they all fit together perfectly like pieces of a puzzle to make one of the most enjoyable families I have yet to meet.  Mom and Dad were so much fun too.  Dad made some awesome leaf piles that the girls were playing in and that we used for a lot of our photos!

Thank you B family for welcoming me into your home letting me capture your girls last weekend.  I had an amazing time and I hope you enjoy these photos for many years to come.  Here’s your sneak peek!
